{slug}.gohaven.co/directory (public mode) and {slug}.gohaven.co/member/directory (the always-members-only portal view). Both list members who have chosen to be visible, along with whichever contact details they’ve decided to share.
Whether the public route is live and what fields appear by default is controlled by your admin under Settings → Directory (see Publish a member directory). Members always have the final say on whether they appear and which of their own fields show — admin defaults set what’s eligible; the member decides what actually shows.
This page is written for two audiences: club admins who want to understand how the directory works, and members who want to know what they can see and how to manage their own privacy.
What members see in the directory
The directory shows each listed member as a card with:- Name — always visible for members who have opted in
- Avatar — if the member has uploaded a profile photo
- Organization / employer — if the admin has enabled it for the viewer’s audience
- Email address — if both (a) the admin has enabled it for the viewer’s audience and (b) the member has enabled it in their privacy settings
- Phone number — same two-layer rule as email
- Custom fields — only when signed in as a member, and only for fields the admin has marked Show in directory under Settings → Custom Fields, and only when the member hasn’t opted out
/directory/{memberId}, which shows the same set of fields they’ve made visible.
Address information is never shown in the directory regardless of any setting. Addresses are visible only to club admins in the admin dashboard.
Searching the directory
Members can search the directory by name or email address using the search bar at the top of the directory page. Typing in the search field and pressing Enter (or clicking away) filters the list in real time. The current result count appears below the search bar so members know how many matches were found.How admins control directory visibility
As an admin, you don’t directly control which fields appear for individual members — that’s intentional. Privacy decisions belong to each member. What you can do:- Encourage members to set their preferences — members who have never visited their profile settings will appear with name only (no email or phone visible to others). Remind members in your welcome email to visit their profile and configure their directory settings.
- See who’s opted out — members who have turned off “Show in Member Directory” are not listed at all and are invisible to other members in the directory.
Member privacy controls
Every member can control their own directory presence from their profile page. The options are: Show in member directory — a master toggle. When off, the member does not appear in the directory at all. When on, they appear by name and avatar. Visible information — if the master toggle is on, members can independently enable or disable:- Email address
- Phone number
- Each custom field the admin has marked as directory-eligible
{slug}.gohaven.co/member/profile). Changes take effect immediately.
A member’s choice to hide from the directory affects only what other members see. Admins always have full access to member contact information from the admin dashboard, regardless of a member’s directory settings.
